EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Fire crews rescued a person out of the water along the Border Highway early Saturday morning, Aug. 24 in South-Central El Paso, the department said on social media.
The incident happened at about 4:30 a.m. at the Border Highway (Loop 375) and Fonseca. The rescued individual did not suffer any injuries, El Paso Fire said.
This location has been the site of numerous water rescue operations this year.
The scene was turned over to Border Patrol.
Early Friday morning, Aug. 23, Sunland Park Fire assisted Border Patrol with a search-and-rescue operation along the Rio Grande. Border Patrol had reported six to 10 individuals in the water, Sunland Park Fire said.
Sunland Park Fire water rescue personnel searched the river and six people managed to get out of the water on their own, the department said.
The others were not located, Sunland Park Fire said. The incident happened at about 3:50 a.m. on Friday. Sunland Park Fire did not say the exact location of the incident.
