EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person suffered severe injuries Wednesday morning, Oct. 23, after they were rescued from the canal near the Cesar Chavez Border Highway, according to the El Paso Fire Department.
The Fire Department says its water rescue team responded just before 2 a.m. to the Cesar Chavez Border Highway and Yarbrough to reports of a person in the water.
One person was then transported to medical care with severe injuries.
The scene was turned over to law enforcement.
