EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 12-year-old girl has died after an off-road crash on Sunday, Aug. 17, in Socorro, according to the City of Socorro.
The City says just after 8 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to an off-road crash in the desert area near Darrington Road and Vista Larga Trail.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an off-road vehicle, driven by a 36-year-old woman, had rolled over in the desert south of South Darrington Road.
The vehicle was also occupied by another 36-year-old woman, a 14-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old girl.
The 12-year-old girl was transported to a local hospital, where she later died as a result of her injuries.
The City says the investigation is ongoing, and the Socorro Police Department has requested assistance from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
