EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two brothers were arrested on active personal recognizance bond warrants for smuggling and other charges on Wednesday, April 2, in Northeast El Paso, according to the El Paso County Constable’s Office Precinct 3.
Manuel Antonio Hurtado, 37, was wanted on 10 counts of smuggling of persons and one count of a controlled substance, with a total bond of $115,000.
Ismael Hurtado, 32, was wanted on one count of theft, with a $101,000 bond.


According to the Constable’s Office, on April 2, constable deputies spotted Ismael Hurtado as a passenger in a stopped vehicle that was located at the 7500 block of Gateway North. He was then taken into custody.
At a later time, deputies located Manuel Hurtado at a house on the 4600 block of Vulcan Avenue, according to the Constable’s Office.
After a “short standoff,” Manuel Hurtado was taken into custody, according to the Constable’s Office.
Both Manuel and Ismael Hurtado were booked in the El Paso County Jail.
“Constable Bernal stresses for the El Paso County community to remain vigilant and report any
criminal activity to law enforcement,” read the news release by the Constable’s Office.
