EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Organ Mountain High School has been a powerhouse in cross country and track in Southern New Mexico for the past two decades.
The Knights wrapped up another successful cross country season this weekend.



Two runners — one boy and one girl — both qualified as All-State during the State Cross Country Meet held Saturday, Nov. 8 at Albuquerque Academy.
Sophomore Dax Coombs, the younger brother of former Organ Mountain great Corbin Coombs, finished in ninth place in the boys 5A competition., with a time of 16 minutes, 21 seconds over 3.1 miles.
The Organ Mountain boys team took nine place as a team as well in 5A.
In girls 5A, freshman Ashley Galaz finished third in the girls 5A competition with a time of 19:22. She also earned All-State honors last year as an eighth grader.
The Organ Mountain girls took took seventh overall in 5A.
Booth Coombs and Galaz were individual 3-5A District champions this year and both the Organ Mountain High boys and girls teams won team honors at the district-level as well.
