EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — U.S. Border Patrol agents discovered 22 migrants housed at a residence last week in El Paso, U.S. Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens said in a social media post.
Owens said on Monday, Dec. 16, agents discovered the migrants who were housed in “poor conditions” at a residence in El Paso.
Agents responded to the location after receiving information about the home “possibly being used for illicit activity,” Owens said.
Owens said that all individuals were found in good health and will be processed for removal.
Owens did not specify the address of the home.
“Reporting suspicious activity not only keeps our communities safe but can also lead to the rescue of migrants suffering at the hands of dangerous smugglers,” Owens said.
