EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Five people self-evacuated early Monday morning, Aug. 18, after a house fire in Horizon, Horizon Fire Chief Kris Menendez said.
Menendez says they responded to a Condition 3 house fire early Monday morning in a neighborhood on Ditton Court and Dorchester.
When fire crews arrived at the scene, they discovered a house that was heavily involved, which took a while to put out, Menendez said.
The fire started on the first floor of the house, which ended up spreading to the second floor, Menendez said.
Menendez says they had five occupants in the home who had to self-evacuate, and there were animals in the home that have not been found.
No injuries were reported. Menendez did not say what the cause of the fire was.
Montana Vista Fire, the Socorro Fire Department, the El Paso Fire Department, and the Tribal Fire Division responded to the fire.
