EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two people were hurt and a total of five people were displaced during a house fire early Friday morning, Jan. 24 in Las Cruces, the Las Cruces Fire Department said.
At roughly 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, firefighters responded to a structure fire along the 500 block of Second Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a heavy flames coming from a single-story house.
Two women, two men and a child were helped out from the house fire. Two residents were burned and received treatment at a local hospital, the Fire Department said.
The fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes, the Fire Department said.
The structure sustained heavy fire and smoke damage. The cause of the fire and estimated loss are still under investigation, the Fire Department said.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents in finding a temporary home.
No firefighters were injured in the incident.
