EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 63-year-old man was arrested for illegally dumping tires into a desert area in Socorro and damaging a third person’s property after he was confronted for the dumping on Saturday, Aug. 17, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).
EPCSO said deputies were dispatched to 1300 Horizon Blvd. in Aug. 17 in reference to illegal dumping.
Deputies received information that a “male subject” was dumping several tires in the desert area approximately 500 feet southeast from the 11700 block of Michael Dr., according to EPCSO.
EPCSO said further investigation revealed Richard Eugene Mitchell, 63, illegally dumped tires into the desert area and damaged a third person’s property after he was confronted for the dumping.
Deputies were able to find the location of occurrence and observed approximately 25 tires ranging from different models, brands and sizes, according to EPCSO.
Mitchell was booked into the Downtown Jail Facility for illegal dumping under a $1,000 bond and criminal mischief under a $4,000 bond.
