EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Seven El Paso area businesses signed up to participate in Homeland Security Investigation’s IMAGE Program during a ceremony held Monday, June 17 at HSI’s El Paso headquarters.
The IMAGE Program provides private companies with education and training on proper hiring procedures, including the use of employment screening tools.
Acting HSI El Paso Special Agent in Charge Jason Stevens said the program is a proactive way to “catch them (employers) doing something right instead of catching them doing something wrong.”
The IMAGE Program helps employers ensure that their workforce has been properly vetted with proper documentation, Stevens said. He also said it is a way to make sure that workers aren’t being discriminated against as well.
Stevens said it is a continual partnership and participating businesses can call them whenever they have questions or concerns.
Thirty-three El Paso businesses now participate in the program, Stevens said.
