EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The countdown to Christmas is on and as we inch closer to the holiday, temperatures in the Borderland region are slowly getting warmer.
High temperatures in the upper 60s are expected through Monday. Lows will be in the lower 40s along with sunny skies during the day and clear skies at night.
The winter solstice begins on Saturday and while temperatures certainly do not feel wintery, we will begin noticing longer days and shorter nights as the season progresses.
Tuesday is Christmas Eve where a high near 65 degrees is expected. Overnight, we will drop down to around 43 degrees – making for a chilly Christmas morning.
Christmas Day we will warm up to around 67 and see mostly sunny skies.
The following days will have highs in the mid-60s and lows in the 40s.
