EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Happy Saturday, El Paso! A new month brings strong winds through Tuesday, as much of the Borderland will be experiencing powerful gusts and blowing dust.
Saturday, conditions were on the calmer side. Sunday is when the real activity kicks in with winds from the west blowing 15-25 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph.
We’ll see a high near 74 with a low around 48. Monday those conditions worsen with winds increasing to 30 mph by the afternoon. Winds could gust up to 45 mph and blowing dust will be a factor after noon. Overnight, those winds will slightly reduce to 25-30 mph, with gusts nearing 40 mph.
Your Tuesday is showing similar conditions, only slightly cooler with a high near 65 and low around 37. Winds will blow between 25-30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Those wind speeds will start to decrease after midnight to 10-15 mph, with gusts in the 30-mph range.
Wednesday will finally offer relief from the gusty, dusty conditions with winds much calmer coming in just shy of 10 mph. Mostly sunny skies will accompany a high near 70 with a low around 48.
Break over. Cue the winds again for Thursday and Friday. We’ll see a high around 76 and low near 48 for Thursday. A cooler high is anticipated for Friday in the mid-60s, with a low in the lower 40s. A warmup is in store for the weekend with temperatures in the low 70s on Saturday and near 80 on Sunday and Monday.
