EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The ACTion Programs for Animals (APA) will have a special sale event at its Second Chance Thrift Store in Las Cruces to celebrate the end of construction in the area.

According to the news release by APA, the event will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, at Second Chance Thrift Store, located at 2475 N. Main St. The thrift store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Everything in the store on June 21 will be 40 percent off in celebration of the end of road construction in the area, according to APA.

In addition, APA’s Southern New Mexico Prisoners and Animals Working towards Success (P.A.W.S.) team will be at the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with some prison program graduate dogs who are ready for a forever home, APA said.

“We expanded our thrift store last October, and we look forward to more support from the community, especially now that the area’s construction has cleared,” Michel Meunier, APA executive director, said. “Expanding means double the commercial rent expense, and we need our Doña Ana County community’s support to hopefully double our store earnings, too.”

According to APA, all net proceeds from the store go directly to supporting APA’s adoption center and care for rescue animals.

“We welcome gently used donations when we are open, and you can also call our store at (575) 888-4882 for pick-up of larger items,” Cassandra Lockwood, Second Chance Thrift Store manager, said. “We take a lot of pride in our thrift store’s quality content and setup.”

APA has many cats, kittens, dogs and trained dogs from its P.A.W.S. program available for adoption, the news release read.

Anyone interested in meeting the adoptable animals may visit the APA Adoption Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 537 N. Solano Dr.

Appointments can also be made by calling (575) 571-4654 or by emailing mail@apalascruces.org.
