EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — ACTion Programs for Animals (APA) in Las Cruces will host a Quinceañera Block Party and Open House event to celebrate 15 years of service and more than 6,300 animals saved, the organization said.
The event will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22 at the APA Adoption Center, located at 537 N. Solano Dr.
“We are excited to celebrate our 15th birthday with the community,” said APA’s Executive Director Michel Meunier. “We’ve had many ups and downs through the years, and we hope many people in our community are able to pay us a visit for our block party and open house, especially if they have not seen our adoption center yet. There’s nothing more important than supporting your local animal rescues – all of the rescues. Unlike the big national groups, we are doing the work of saving lives right here in Doña Ana County, and we need the community’s continued support.”
The event will include:
Music by DJ Manny and emcees Joey and Jackie from HOT 103
Pet photos by Tabitha Rossman Photography
EPE Ballet Folklorico performance
PAWS dog demonstrations
Adoption center tours
Meet and greet with APA animals and staff
Raffles
Refreshments
“Not only are we celebrating our organization’s quinceañera, but we are also looking forward to APA Second Chance Thrift Store’s fifth birthday and its expansion in October,” Meunier said. “We encourage everyone to visit the thrift store often to shop and donate. All net proceeds from our store benefit APA.”
The APA Second Chance Thrift Store is located at 2475 N. Main Street, Suite A.
