EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Ascarate Park is now taking reservations for picnic shelter rentals for the upcoming Easter weekend, El Paso County said in a press release.
The County says securing a picnic sport in advance can ensure a hassle-free experience with Easter falling on Sunday, April 20, and celebrations anticipated for the weekend.
Picnic shelters are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis, there is also the option to reserve for families who want to pass the early morning rush and guarantee a location for the holiday.
The County says on April 19th and 20th, parking at Ascarate Park is set at $5 per vehicle, payable by cash or debit/credit.
Available shelters throughout the park range in bookings from $50 to $200 for the entire day.
Reservations can be made in person by visiting the Park and Recreation Administration Office located within Ascarate Park located at 6900 Delta.
Office hours are from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The cutoff for securing a reservation will be this Thursday, April 17 as County offices will be closed on Good Friday, April 18.
