EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Bel Air High School was placed on lockdown Tuesday morning, May 7 for a “possible threat made to the school,” according to a spokesperson with the Ysleta Independent School District (YISD).
The spokesperson says El Paso Police and district officials are at the scene.

The spokesperson also says students are currently safe in their classrooms.
“As a precautionary measure, Bel Air High School was placed on lockdown at about 10 o’clock this morning after administration was notified of a possible threat made toward the school. The El Paso Police Department was immediately notified and are on site to investigate the situation. All students are safe in their classrooms and under direct adult supervision,” the spokesperson said.
