“Beto has consistently been on the road to hear directly from his fellow Texans and organize on the ground. He has held more than a dozen recent events throughout the state, including more than 10 in areas represented by a Republican in Congress. He has already been in Abilene, Amarillo, Wichita Falls, Tyler, Waco, Laredo, Beaumont, Denton, Rosenberg, Garland, Humble, Houston, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Mansfield, Austin, and Pearland where he brought together Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and folks who don’t align with a party,” the news release said.
Launched by O’Rourke in 2019, Powered by the People is a voter registration and mobilization group that is composed of thousands of volunteers all over Texas.
