EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of their The Great Khalid Foundation Music Room.
The ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at the Club Petty location on 801 S. Florence St.
According to the news release by the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso, the new music room is part of a larger initiative by The Great Khalid Foundation to provide accessible, high-quality music education for youth in El Paso.
“This project represents everything Khalid stands for: music, education and giving back to the
community,” Linda Wolfe, The Great Khalid Foundation executive director and mother to the
pop star, said. “We’re proud to collaborate with the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso to create a space where kids can explore their musical talents and feel inspired. We believe that the power of music builds confidence and camaraderie, and positively impacts social change for children, families and communities.”
The new music space will be equipped with instruments, a stage and other resources for kids of all experience levels, the Club said.
In addition, the room is to “foster creativity, skill-building and a love for music among young people,” the Boys and Girls Clubs said.
“We’re grateful to The Great Khalid Foundation for including us in this transformative project,” Anthony Tomasheski, CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso, said. “The Great Khalid Music
Room will give kids access to quality music education and inspire a lifelong love of music.”
