EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) will begin repairs to a broken waterline on Thursday, Aug. 7 Hacienda neighborhood in Sunland Park.
At approximately 9 a.m. Thursday, water service to the neighborhood will be interrupted for several hours while the broken section of pipe is removed and replaced with new pipe, CRRUA said.

The line break is approximately 12 feet below the road surface. Due to the high groundwater table, water must be removed from the site of the break to allow crews to do the repair, the utility said.
A drilling contractor has installed two temporary well points, each with 10 horsepower submersible pumps and is in the process of draining the groundwater.
The road remains closed for the duration of the repair process beginning at 2056 Boy Scout Lane. Residents south of that address will have access on Futurity Road and San Gabriel Drive. Residents to the north have access via a detour on Frontera Road
