Angel Reynosa, owner of After Ten Tattoo, at San Diego and El Paso, and organizer of the tattoo crawl, wanted to show his love for his hometown through community engagement.
“Creating something special for our city was important to me,” Reynosa said. “After moving back home, I wanted to collaborate with other local shops and boost foot traffic in Downtown. 915 Day was the ideal opportunity to launch this event and celebrate our community.”
The following locations specialize in different tattoo styles, but can do tattoos in any other styles:
After Ten Tattoo specializes in black-and-gray, fine line and realism styles of tattoos.
Sunset Tattoo specializes in bold, American traditional tattoos.
Monolith Tattoo specializes in a hybrid mix of traditional and Japanese-inspired style of tattoos.
Over 20 artists will be participating at the three tattoo shops and attendees can choose from different flash designs at each location, according to the news release by the El Paso Downtown Management District (DMD).
In addition, the event will also feature lowrider car displays, live music from local bands, pop-up shops throughout Downtown and special promotions and activities at participating Downtown businesses.
Special guest San Diego tattoo artist Vic Alvarez, who is from Reynosa’s California shop, will be joining the event and will be bringing his unique flash designs, according to El Paso DMD.
Raffles of free tattoo giveaways will also be held at the event and all proceeds will be presented to the El Paso Community Foundation, according to the El Paso DMD.
