EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — You can celebrate Black History Month through “Storytime” events with the El Paso Public Libraries in collaboration with the NAACP El Paso Branch.
Throughout February, the El Paso Public Libraries will host a series of programs and Storytime events to “bring attention to the rich cultural tapestry within our community,” the City of El Paso said in a news release.
“Our libraries are proud to partner with the NAACP to bring this meaningful programming to the community,” Norma Martinez, director of El Paso Public Libraries, said. “As champions of cultural and historical diversity, we are excited to continue celebrating the richness of our community with the help of the NAACP El Paso Branch.”
Here are the following list of events free to the public:
- Saturday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m.: Esperanza Moreno Library, 12480 Pebble Hills Blvd
- Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 4 p.m.: Dorris Van Doren Library, 551 Redd Rd
- Saturday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m.: Jose Cisneros Cielo Vista Library, 1300 Hawkins Blvd
- Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 4 p.m.: Richard Burges Library, 9600 Dyer St C.
The events will feature special Storytime sessions with guest readers, crafts and free refreshments.
“Our partnership with El Paso Public Library is a journey towards a brighter future,” NAACP El Paso Branch member Tephanie Hopper said. “In every book lies the power to inspire, educate, and transform.”
