The event was held Thursday afternoon, Feb. 29 at the Enrique Moreno County Courthouse located at 500 E. San Antonio Ave., according to a press release sent by the El Paso County.
“According to Loveisrespect.org, one in ten high school students has been purposely hit, slapped, or physically hurt by a partner, and only 33% of teens who have been in an abusive relationship ever told anyone about the abuse. It’s time to “Speak Up” and let our youth know that their voices are being heard,” read the press release.
The County says the event was an opportunity to create dating abuse awareness with a “pop of color and art.”
