KTSM News – Change of plea hearing held for former NMSU basketball player Doctor Bradley

Posted on October 23, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A change of plea hearing was held for former New Mexico State men’s basketball player Doctor Bradley in Las Cruces on Wednesday.

Bradley  — one of three former NMSU men’s basketball players from the 2022-23 team that was charged with multiple felony sex crimes  — accepted a plea deal on Wednesday, according to the Las Cruces Bulletin.

Bradley  —  who pleaded not guilty on all 13 of the felony charges filed against him back in November — accepted a plea deal that has led to Bradley pleading guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct. Both counts are petty misdemeanors.

Part of Bradley’s plea deal is that he will testify against his former NMSU teammates — Deshawndre Washington and Kim Aiken Jr. — according to the Las Cruces Bulletin.

Last November, Aiken Jr., Bradley, and Washington were all charged with the felonies in the New Mexico Third District Court in Las Cruces, following the Attorney General’s investigation as part of a Grand Jury indictment. Washington was charged with 13 felonies, while Aiken Jr. was charged with 11 felonies.

Both Washington and Aiken Jr. pleaded not guilty.

New Mexico court records show that Washington and Aiken Jr.’s trial is set to start on February 10, 2025.
