EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Chuco Tango gang member who had outstanding warrants was arrested last Friday, May 9, in Horizon after he was caught driving while intoxicated, according to the Horizon City Police Department.
Police say they conducted a traffic stop at around 3:30 a.m. that Friday at the 13500 block of Horizon Boulevard after officers saw a vehicle swerving on the road and almost collide with another vehicle.
Officers determined the driver, identified as Saul Cervantes, showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said.
Officers then conducted a wanted persons check regarding Cervantes and discovered that he had outstanding warrants for three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Cervantes also had two prior criminal warrants for driving while intoxicated and officers confirmed he was a Chuco Tango gang member, police said.
Cervantes was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $15,000 bond.
