EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – EL PASO, Texas—City of El Paso officials are inviting the public to a series of public meetings about the City’s budget for fiscal year 2025. At these meetings, residents and businesses can express their feedback about municipal services that are most meaningful to them.
The meetings are part of the City’s annual Chime In! public engagement campaign designed to involve residents in the budget development process.
The community meetings are as follows:
· 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11
Westside Library (125 Belvidere
· 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18
Sun Metro’s Northgate Transit Center, 9348 Dyer
· 6 p.m. Thursday, June 20
Wayne Thornton Community Center, 3134 Jefferson
· 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27
Sylvia Carreon Community Center, 709 Lomita
· 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29
Esperanza Moreno Library, 12480 Pebble Hills
The public feedback captured from these meetings and the recently completed Chime In! survey will provide City leaders with the framework to align the annual operating budget priorities with services most valued by taxpayers.
The City’s budget for fiscal year 2025 must be adopted by August 31, 2024. Public hearings will be held this summer as part of the budget adoption process.
Last year, the City’s budget prioritized public safety, streets, and quality of life. It included a no-new-revenue tax rate to provide relief to taxpayers, meaning the City did not increase property taxes.
