EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Chihuahuan Desert Climate Collaborative (CDCC) will be hosting the first Climate Engagement Series for the community to learn about the Regional Climate Action Plan (CAP) for El Paso and Hudspeth counties.
In partnership with the City of El Paso, the open-house style events will allow the community to learn more about the Climate Action Plan.
“Community involvement is essential in shaping a plan that truly addresses our regional climate
challenges,” said Nicole Ferrini, the City of El Paso’s climate and sustainability officer. “We are
excited to continue this collaborative process and work together to develop a sustainable future for the Paso Del Norte Region.”
The following are the dates and times for the CAP Climate Engagement Series meetings:
Tuesday, July 23
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Valle Bajo Recreation Center
7380 Alameda Ave.
Tuesday, July 30
From 5 to 7 p.m. at Patriot Place Apartments Clubhouse
9500 Kenworthy St.
The meetings are the first of five community “touchpoints” in the Climate Engagement Series, according to the news release sent out by the Chihuahuan Desert Climate Collaborative.
This will allow the community’s “voices” to help shape climate policies and how investments managed by the local government are used to create a resilient and healthier region, the CDCC said.
Residents who are not able to attend the session can watch an informational video and fill out an online survey at the El Paso Climate website.
