KTSM News – City Rep. Isabel Salcido running for El Paso Mayor

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — City Representative for District 5, Isabel Salcido, has submitted her name to run for El Paso City Mayor on Thursday, Aug. 15, according to documents obtained by KTSM.

Salcido is the ninth candidate to run for Mayor, joining her councilmembers Cassandra Hernandez and Brian Kennedy, along with candidates Marco Contreras, Renard Johnson, Steven Winters, Jacob Chavira, Roberto Houle, and Elizabeth Cordova.


City Rep. Brian Kennedy announces run for El Paso mayor

Salcido filed her paperwork at the City Clerk’s office on Thursday and named Salvador Robledo as her treasurer, according to documents obtained by KTSM.

Salcido is currently serving her second term as City Rep for District 5 and her term ends on December 2027.

Similar to City Rep. Brian Kennedy, Salcido has to resign from her position, since the councilwoman has more than one year and 30 days remaining in her term.

The El Paso Mayor election is on November 5.
