EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Public Libraries is now accepting applications from local organizations and community groups to get involved with the annual literacy day known as Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros.
This year’s festivities will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 at Washington
Park in South-Central El Paso.
The event planning committee is seeking participation from nonprofit organizations, school
groups, including cheer squads and marching bands, and community volunteers interested
in supporting this celebration of literacy, culture, and youth.
Opportunities to participate include:
- Hosting an interactive activity booth (free of charge)
- Marching in the parade
- Serving as an official event volunteer
- Supporting event operations in other capacities
Participation is free, and registration is available at www.ElPasoLibrary.org by clicking the
designated event link.
“Hosted in collaboration with the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department, Día de
los Niños, Día de los Libros attracts thousands of families each year, offering a full day of
entertainment, educational activities, and community engagement — all in celebration of
children and the power of books,” the City said in its news release.
