EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Clint Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees approved an employee compensation plan for 2025-2026, the school district said in a press release on Tuesday, July 22.
The school district says classroom teachers with three to four years of experience will receive a $2,500 increase to their base salary and those with five or more years of experience will receive a $5,000 increase.
“The increases are made possible through the newly implemented Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA), a state-funded initiative aimed at retaining experienced educators across Texas,” the school district said.
To be eligible for TRA funding, an educator needs to deliver a minimum of four hours of direct instruction to students each instructional day, the school district said.
The board also approved a 3.5 percent salary increase from the pay grade midpoint for all other employees who are not eligible for the TRA. This includes early-career teachers, instructional aides, technical and auxiliary staff, administrators, and other district personnel, the school district said.
The school district says it may need to revisit compensation if state funding levels change.
“We are incredibly proud to offer a compensation package that honors the dedication and hard work of our employees. By investing in our staff, we are directly investing in student success and the future of our community.”
