EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Clint Independent School District has earned a “Superior Achievement” rating in the Texas Education Agency’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).
Clint ISD earned a score of 98 out of 100 in the FIRST rating.
FIRST is administered by TEA and calculated on information submitted to TEA via the
district’s Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) submission each year.
The FIRST accountability rating system assigns one of four financial accountability ratings
to Texas school districts, with the highest being “Superior Achievement,” followed by
“Above-Standard Achievement,” “Standard Achievement” and “Substandard Achievement.”
The primary goal of FIRST is to achieve “quality performance in the management of school
districts’ financial resources, a goal made more significant due to the complexity of
accounting associated with Texas’ school finance system,” Clint ISD said in a news release.
“This is an outstanding achievement for the school board and district,” Jessie
Cline, chief financial officer, said. “It takes the efforts of many outstanding staff members to
make this happen and we will strive to continue to provide excellence in fiscal
accountability to all of our stakeholders.”
