EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Here is a list of closures and schedule changes for Juneteenth, which is Wednesday, June 19.
Juneteenth National Independence Day is a U.S. federal holiday that commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States. Texas has recognized Juneteenth since 1980.
Doña Ana County
Doña Ana County’s administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
First responders and law enforcement in the field will remain active through the holiday. Regular business hours for administrative offices will resume at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 20.
U.S. Postal Service
Postal Service retail locations will be closed, and there will be no regular mail delivery except for holiday premium Priority Mail Express, on Wednesday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
All retail locations will be open for normal business hours, and regular mail delivery will resume, the next business day, Thursday, June 20.
Customers are still able to order stamps and shipping supplies, print shipping labels, and request package pickups 24/7, including holidays, at www.usps.com. As a reminder, stamps are also sold at most major grocery stores, big box stores, some pharmacies, and even ATMs.
City of El Paso Administrative Offices
The following administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19:
Community Clinics, Medicaid Waiver Program, WIC Offices
Municipal Court/Bond Offices
Museum of Archaeology, Museum of Art and Museum of History
One-Stop Shop
Public Libraries
Rawlings Dental Clinic
Recreation Centers, Senior Centers and Aquatic Centers
STD and HIV Prevention Surveillance
Department of Public Health
Tax Office
The offices will resume business on Thursday, June 20.
Texas Tech Health El Paso
The Texas Tech Health El Paso campus will be closed on Wednesday, June 19.
The closure includes libraries, Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso clinics and the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic.
Normal hours of operation will resume on Thursday, June 20.
