CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) — The Clovis Police Department is investigating the homicide of two women and the abduction of an infant.
According to the Clovis Police Department, on May 3 at approximately 4:26 p.m., the Clovis Police Department Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a person who believed they found two dead females at Ned Houk Park. The department added that Ned Houk Park is a city park located 5 miles north of Clovis.
Officers arrived on the scene and found two female victims, with apparent gunshot wounds, lying on the ground near a silver Dodge minivan along with a young female child on the ground suffering from an injury to her head. Officers began giving life-saving measures to the child. Clovis EMS arrived on the scene and transported the child to Plains Regional Medical Center. CPD said the child was later transferred to a Lubbock area hospital.
The female victims were identified as 23-year-old Samantha Cisneros and 23-year-old Taryn Allen, both from Texico, NM.
According to the Clovis Police Department, officers on the scene discovered there was an infant car seat, an infant stroller, and a small baby bottle left at the scene. Officers were concerned there was an infant child with the female victims when this incident happened. Officers immediately began searching the area for the infant.
The 9th Judicial Major Crime Unit was activated and took over the investigation. Through interviews with family members, investigators learned Cisneros was the mother to the young female child found at the scene and was also the mother to a 10-month-old child, Eleia Maria Torres.
CPD said investigators believe that 10-month-old Torres has been abducted by the perpetrator of this crime and is in immediate danger and that an Amber Alert was issued for her.
CPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Torres, who is 10 months old, 28-inches tall, and weighs 23 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair.
The New Mexico State Police said there is currently no suspect in this incident. However, it is suspected the suspect was in a possible maroon Honda car, an unknown model.
