EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Coats for Kids campaign wants your help to make sure that no child goes without a warm winter coat this winter.
This year, the annual campaign hopes to help more than 2,000 children ages 5 through 5th grade in Las Cruces and Doña Ana Ana County, its organizers said.
Over 60,000 coats have been given to needy children in Doña Ana Ana County since the program began in 1995, according to group’s website.
Coats for Kids partners with 101 Gold, D2 Designs, Community Action Agency, Comet Cleaners, and Knights of Columbus to make the annual drive possible, its organizers said.
You can help by making an online donation to Coats for Kids. All donations are matched 100 percent by the Anderson Foundation, Coats for Kids organizers said.
Gently used children’s coats may be taken to any Comet Cleaners in Las Cruces through the end of the year.
