The poppies blooming on the Franklin Mountains look fantastic, as we can see from this picture from Weather Watcher Brian Heller. Those poppies would look even healthier if we had a little more rain, which we shall get this weekend.
TONIGHT: The skies will be partly cloudy overnight. The winds will be light and variable at 5-10 mph, and the low will drop to 47.
FORECAST: A cold front blows in for Friday. The east winds will range from 15-35 mph with the strongest gusts on the west slopes of the mountains. The skies will be partly to mostly cloudy (at times), and the high will be 63. Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Saturday’s high will be 68, and the winds will be variable at 5-15 mph. Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a few raindrops here and there. Sunday’s high: 65. On Monday, look for partly to mostly cloudy skies with a few drops possible and a high of 64. Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a high of 70. Spring officially begins on Tuesday evening at 9:06.
