KTSM News – Community asked to clean up County park in Canutillo

Posted on April 16, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Community members are being asked to volunteer to clean up a County park in Canutillo this weekend.

To celebrate Global Volunteer Month and Earth Day, volunteers are being asked to meet from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20 at Gallegos Park, 7351 Bosque Road.

Following the cleanup, there will be a Carnival of Thanks from 10 a.m. to noon that will celebrate the County’s Volunteer Program.

The El Paso County Volunteer Program has included volunteers ranging in age from 5 to 67 and has represented 36 local zip codes from Las Cruces to Juarez since the program launched last year, according to a news release sent out by the County.

Volunteers and unpaid interns contributed more than 26,000 hours in 2023 to better the community, the County said.

For more information about volunteering or the upcoming clean-up event, email volunteer@epcounty.com.
