EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Star Central Studios Learning Center is hosting a 48-hour film contest this fall.
The competition will be held Oct. 17-19 at Star Central Studios Learning Center, 1105 E. Yandell Dr. Registration is already open.
Filmmakers of all levels — from seasoned professionals to students — are invited to compete by writing, shooting and editing an original short film in just two days.

Participants will have the opportunity to win cash prizes and awards while gaining visibility in the region’s growing film community, organizers said.
“This contest is more than a competition; it’s a platform for voices to be heard and stories to be
shared,” said Jennifer Cedillo, executive director for Star Central Studios Learning Center. “The Star Central 48 is helping to grow El Paso’s film culture and giving both emerging and established filmmakers the chance to shine.”
The contest features two categories: a general competition open to all filmmakers and a student competition open to middle school, high school and college-level creators.
In additoin to prize packages, films will be screened at a film premier offering participants a chance to see their work on the big screen in front of audience, peers and community leaders.
The film contest also serves as a fundraiser for Star Central Studios Learning Center, supporting
film education and resources for El Paso youth.
