Construction will include elevated medians, drainage and additional improvements to accommodate future growth in the area, the County said.
The project would be from Pellicano Drive to the intersection of Montwood and John Hayes.
The project is conjunction with El Paso Water which is extending waterlines in the area.
“When completed, this project will help the County to move forward with Phase 2 of the project where an additional four lanes will be built and will provide alternative north/south connectivity,” according to a program handed out at the ribbon-cutting.
