KTSM News – County, Chicas Locas reach tentative agreement

Posted on November 25, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The controversial Chicas Locas night club and the County have reached a tenative agreement, according to KTEP public radio.

A lengthy court hearing was held Monday, Nov. 25. The County had been seeking to shut down the club, which opened up in the former Jaguars site in East El Paso.

Casey Wallace, a private attorney for Chicas Locas, says a pending agreement with the El Paso County Attorney’s Office will pave the way for the club to open in March, according to KTEP.

Wallace also told KTEP the club owners have gotten permitted work done satisfying requirements from the City of El Paso.

The two sides will have until Dec. 6 to finalize their agreement. The club will also have to show that they have hired off-duty police or level-4 security and they will have pay “thousands of dollars in bonds,” KTEP said.

At issue, an original settlement with the County when Jaguars closed barred the owners from opening another sexual-oriented business there again.
