EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso County Commissioners Court is scheduled to discuss and possibly take action on adopting a budget for Fiscal Year 2025 at its meeting on Monday, Sept. 16.
The proposed FY 2025 budget totals $584.5 million dollars.
Here is a breakdown of the proposed budget by different categories, according to the County:
General Fund: $467,069,576
Special Revenue: $71,474,513
Debt Service: $33,831,444
Enterprise Funds: $5,165,322
Capital Projects: $6,951,166
Total Proposed Budget: $584,492,021
Since February, the County has conducted a series of budget meetings as it prepared to propose a budget for FY2025 which begins on Oct. 1.
In August, the Commissioners Court voted to adopt a “no-new-revenue” tax rate.
“At $0.426323, this rate is more than three-cents lower than the County’s current tax rate. This is the third time in the past four years the County has adopted a reduced tax rate,” the County said in a news release at the time.
The El Paso County Commissioners Court is scheduled to meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the County Courthouse, 500 E. San Antonio, Room 303.
