KTSM News – County seeking nominations for Veteran of Year

Posted on July 1, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso County and the County’s Veterans Advisory Board are accepting nominations for the 2024 Veteran of the Year, beginning on July 1.

Nominations will be accepted until Sept. 30.

“The County is in search of a veteran whose outstanding service has made a positive impact in the El Paso community. Some characteristics the ideal Veteran of the Year may possess include: strong leadership skills; a public service mindset; and various contributions that they have made in our local El Paso community,” the County said in a news release.

Veteran of the Year submission forms will be reviewed by a sub-committee of veterans who make up the County’s VAB.

Once selected, the Veteran of the Year will be recognized on the Veterans Wall of Honor located in the El Paso County Courthouse in November.

To nominate a veteran, a submission form can be found online at www.epcounty.com/veterans. Forms can then be submitted via email to ahunt@epcounty.com or dropped off in person at one of the following locations: Veterans Services Office (Northeast), 4641 Cohen Ave., Suite D; and Veteran Services Office (Eastside), 2350 George Dieter, Suite B.
