EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Six Doña Ana Community College (DACC) students will represent New Mexico in the national SkillsUSA competition held from Monday, June 24 to Friday, June 28 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The six students won gold medals at the state SkillsUSA competition in April, according to a news release sent by DACC.

“DACC’s team consisted of 23 students who received awards from gold to silver and bronze medals,” read the news release. “The competition prepares students for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.”

DACC students competed in areas such as customer service, extemporaneous speech, job demonstration and interview, architectural drafting, information technology, internetworking, computer programming and culinary arts.
