KTSM News – Doña Ana County clerk warns about spam voter texts

Posted on October 21, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office wants to warn voters about spam text messages after they received calls from concerned voters during the past few days.

The County Clerk’s Office says some voters have been getting text messages saying someone at their residence has not voted in the 2024 general election.

“These text messages are not coming from the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office. They are a third-party text that has no affiliation with the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office or the New Mexico secretary of state,” the County Clerk’s Office said.

The Doña Ana County Clerk’s office wants to remind Doña Ana County residents that they can check their voting history by clicking here.

Once they are on the website, go to the box labeled “Find my registration and information,” then enter your voter information. After entering all required information, go to the “My voting history” section on the left. A page will pop up with all the elections the voter has participated in and the polling place where they voted. Voters who have already cast their ballot for the 2024 General Election during early voting should see that information on their voting history.

Early voting is currently happening at nine locations across Doña Ana County.

Early voting at the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 N. Motel Blvd. in Las Cruces, is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The following locations are open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Tuesday through Saturday:

· Anthony Public Library, 750 Landers Rd.

· Corbett Center Student Union, NMSU, 1600 International Mall, Las Cruces

· DACC, 755 Prescott Anthony Dr., Chaparral

· DACC, 2800 Sonoma Ranch Blvd., Las Cruces

· DACC, 3365 McNutt Road, Sunland Park

· Hatch Valley Public Schools, 350 Main St., Hatch

· Las Cruces City Hall, 700 N. Main St.

· Mesilla Town Hall, 2231 Avenida de Mesilla.

The general election will be on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Polling stations in Doña Ana County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
