EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority (MVRDA), in partnership with the Doña Ana County Office of Emergency Management, is encouraging residents to sign up for CodeRED, a free emergency notification system.
CodeRED allows local public safety officials to quickly deliver time-sensitive alerts directly to residents through phone calls, text messages, emails, and social media, a news release said.
Notifications may include severe weather warnings, evacuation notices, missing persons, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergencies that may directly impact the community, the news release said.
In addition to CodeRED, MVRDA and the Doña Ana County Office of Emergency Management are actively working together to expand notification resources and provide additional tools to enhance emergency communication across the region, the news release said.
