EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Doña Ana County’s Road Department will fog seal roads starting on Monday, March 3, in Doña Ana, Fairacres, and Radium Springs.
The following roads in Commission District 5 will be fog sealed, according to the County:
- Doña Ana: Rancho Algodones Road
- Fairacres: Shalem Colony Trail
- Radium Springs: De Beers Drive, Desert Edge Road, Harvey Farm Road, Hope Road, and Harvey Farm Road and Doña Ana Road from Doña Ana to Radium Springs
The County said a fog seal is an application of a specially formulated asphalt emulsion or thin liquid oil to seal narrow cracks, restore some flexibility to the pavement surface, and help preserve its underlying structure.
All roads will remain open, but access may be reduced to a single lane while repairs are being made, the County said.
The County said this road maintenance work is slated for completion by Friday, Mar. 28.
“Doña Ana County is committed to minimizing traffic disruptions. However, delays are expected during road maintenance. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, follow traffic signs and be cautious near personnel and equipment in the area,” read the news release by the County.
