CLOVIS, N.M.– An Amber Alert was issued on Friday evening for a baby girl in Clovis after two women were killed and another child suffered serious injuries after a shooting in a Clovis park, according to the Clovis Police Department.
Clovis PD said officers were called to Ned Houk Park by a person saying they believed they found two dead females. Officers arrived at the scene and found Samantha Cisneros and Taryn Allen, both 23, with “apparent” gunshot wounds laying near a silver Dodge Minivan.
Investigators searched the minivan and found an infant car seat, stroller and a small baby bottle left at the scene. After speaking with the family of Cisneros, it was confirmed she was the mother of 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres and another child who suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Clovis PD said it believed the Eleia was taken by the shooter and “is in immediate danger.”
The older child was taken to a Lubbock Hospital for further treatment.
This is a developing story. CPD said the investigation as ongoing, and anyone with “pertinent information” on the case is encouraged to call the Clovis Police Department at 575-769-1921.
