EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Blowing dust, high winds and low visibility are impacting highways on Tuesday afternoon, May 13 in Southern New Mexican and forcing some roads to close.
That includes Interstate 10 in both directions from mile marker 81 (Deming West) to mile marker 132, which is 3 miles west of Las Cruces.
I-10 is also closed in both directions from the Arizona stateline to Deming from mile marker 5 (NM 80/Road Forks) to mile marker 81 (Deming West).
According to the New Mexico Department of Transportation, the following roads have also been closed:
*Columbus to Santa Teresa: New Mexico 9 eastbound and westbound lanes from Columbus to NM 136.
*Deming to Columbus: NM 11 northbound and southbound from miler marker 26 (Sunrise) to mile marker 4 (Columbus).
*Deming: NM 549 eastbound and westbound from miler marker 0 to miler marker 31.
*Deming to Hatch: NM 26 eastbound and westbound from miler marker 0 to 45.
*Deming to Silver City: US 180 eastbound and westbound from miler marker 164 (Deming) to miler marker 133, 3 miles wests of Whitewater.
