KTSM News – El Paso Animal Services to hold drive-thru pet clinic this Sunday

Posted on November 7, 2024

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso’s Animal Services Department is hosting its fourth drive-thru pet wellness clinic of the year this Sunday, Nov. 10, the City said in a press release.

The City says the pet wellness clinic is free and will be from 8 a.m. through 10 a.m. this Sunday, Nov. 10, at 6500 Bonanza Street.

The clinic will operate on a first come first serve basis and is limited to the first 500 pets. Those who would like to attend should keep their pets inside their vehicles throughout the drive-thru clinic. Dogs must be secured on a leash, and cats must be secured in a carrier, according to the City.

All pets will be microchipped at the clinic as it’s required by El Paso City ordinances. Dogs will receive a parvo/distemper vaccination and cats will receive a feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia (FVRCP) vaccination. Rabies vaccines will not be available at this event, the City said.

Pets aged six weeks or older are eligible for vaccines.

“El Paso Animal Services encourages the community to take advantage of this upcoming event to help prevent disease outbreaks and increase the chances of lost pets finding their way home. With over 19,700 pets already entering the shelter this year, taking proactive steps like vaccinating and microchipping can make a meaningful difference in the health, safety, and well-being of pets across El Paso,” the City said.
