EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso City Council postponed the discussion of the proposed Multipurpose Performing Arts and Entertainment Center (MPC) for Downtown El Paso for another two weeks.
City Council was set to discuss some of the sites where the venue would be built on Tuesday, March 26 with the Union State site emerging as the favorite.
As we have previously reported, City Council was scheduled to revisit discussions regarding the MPC on Tuesday, March 12. However, it was postponed.
This is the latest of a nearly 12-year process that has seen the 2012 voter-approved vision of a Downtown arena be shot down by residents and advocates of the Duranguito neighborhood.
City Council is now considering a proposed amphitheater in the Union Station Depot area in Downtown El Paso.
