EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso County is getting ready to break ground for a groundbreaking transformation.
The El Paso County has announced the beginning of the construction phase for the Fabens Sidewalks Project. The construction will start along G Avenue, Walker Avenue, 5th Street, Mike Maros Street and Aspen Hills Street for a total of 2.72 miles.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Friday, April 5 at the corner of 5th Street and Walker Avenue at 10 a.m.
Fabens Sidewalks Project will include the installment of 61 accessible ramps, striping, crosswalks and driveways, the County said in its news release.
The improvements are designed to increase pedestrian safety and greater accessibility, the County said.
The construction will have an affect on the following schools: Fabens Elementary School, O’Donnell Intermediate School, Fabens High School and Cotton Valley Early College High School.
