EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 33-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, July 3 for submitting falsified court documents in a criminal case, according to the news release from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).
According to EPCSO, Jose Alejandro Vaquera was arrested and charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and online impersonation.
Vaquera was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a total bond of $30,000, the Sheriff’s Office said.
According to the news release, Vaquera is accused of submitting falsified documents and emails to the County Criminal Court No. 1 in connection to an unrelated criminal case.
“The materials appeared to show compliance with court-ordered requirements and included what seemed to be records from a Battering Intervention and Prevention Program,” read the news release.
EPCSO said with concerns about the legitimacy of the documents, the Criminal Investigations Division launched an “in-depth” investigation, where they confirmed that the documents and emails had been fabricated.
